“Origin and History of the Kumquat”
Listen to an informative talk on the origin
and history of kumquats in the Dade City area. Also learn about the
different types of kumquats and how they are used. (approx 15
min).

Packing House Tour
A tour of the Packing House which
will explain how kumquats are picked, processed, packaged and
shipped. (approx 15 min.)

Grove Tour
A tour of a kumquat grove.
This tour will cover the planting, maintenance and care of kumquat
trees for commercial production. (approx 30 min.)

Annual Open House
The 2013 Open House will
be held at the Kumquat Growers packing house
in St. Joseph
from 10:00 AM to 3:00
PM
on Thursday January 24th and Friday, January
25th,
(the two days before the Kumquat
Festival).
We will answer your questions about
kumquats.

The Kumquat Festival will be held
in Dade City on Saturday, January 26th from
9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Come see us at the
big tent on Meridian at 6th Street in Dade
City.
Kumquat Growers packing house and gift
shop will be open on the day of the
festival.

Unfortunately, Roger Swain will not be able to attend this year. Known
as the "man in red suspenders", Roger was host to "The Victory
Garden" on PBS for 15 years. and also co-hosted "People, Places
& Plants, the Gardening Show". He also was a writer
and science editor at Horticulture Magazine. He is the author of
five books: Earthly Pleasures, Field Days, The Practical Gardener,
Saving Graces, and Groundwork.
